M-10000 Train Set/Union Pacific
SKU: R92534
The Union Pacific won the race to employ a modern, streamlined high-speed train, introducing the M-10000 in February, 1934 - months before the debut of the Burlington Route's Pioneer Zephyr.
Replicating the original three-car M-10000 designed by GM stylist Harley Earl, this DCC-ready, HO scale set is a magnificent recreation of the original. You get a locomotive and two Pullman-Standard coaches (including a realistic coach buffet end car with working tail lights), each with a finely molded body that simulates aircraft aluminum panels with rivets, a fully outfitted interior with working lights, a magnetic diaphragm coupling system, separately applied detail parts and glazed windows, RP25 metal wheels, an authentic Union Pacific paint scheme, and many more top-of-the-line features.
The locomotive, for example, includes a powerful 5-pole motor with dual brass flywheels, eight wheel drive, all-wheel electrical pickup, a working headlight and the prototype's unusual skyward pointing spotlight, a brass see-through front grille, and a detailed turret cab with engineer and fireman figures. It measures 10" long while the coach is 8¼" and the coach buffet end car is 9¾" long. 22" curve radius recommended.
So don't wait; this is one of the most unique pieces we've ever offered, and it's sure to be the center of attention on every layout on which it runs and in every display case in which it sits.
